Properly disposing of end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment (E-Waste)

1.Separate E-Waste from General Trash

  • Do not mix electrical or electronic devices with household waste.
  • Remove batteries, light bulbs, and power cells from devices, as these are considered hazardous waste.

2. Use Authorized E-Waste Collection Points

  • Take devices to municipal E-Waste collection centers or local government facilities.
  • Use retailer or manufacturer take-back programs (many electronics stores accept old devices).
  • Participate in community hazardous waste collection events.

3. Dispose of Batteries Properly

  • Do not throw batteries, especially lithium batteries, into regular trash.
  • Tape the battery terminals and place them in a secure container before disposal at designated battery collection points.

4. Avoid Improper Disposal

  • Do not burn, bury, or dump electronic waste into the environment.
  • E-Waste contains hazardous substances such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, which can harm human health and the environment.
